What is Ready. Set. Hire?

A youth employment initiative led by the South Central Workforce Development Board (SCWDB), Ready. Set. Hire. is designed to simplify the job search and connect young people with real opportunities—including career coaching, work support, and a cash bonus for staying committed.

Who Is It For?

Youth ages 16–24 in all 10 counties of South Central Kentucky—including high school grads, co-op students, and anyone ready to start working.

Why Is It So Important?

It gives young people a real-world head start by preparing them for finding and securing employment, helping them build work ethic, gain income, and develop the confidence and habits needed for long-term career success.

CASH BONUS FOR JOB COMMITMENT

  • $500 for 90 days in a full-time job
  • $250 for 90 days in a part-time job (20+ hours/week)
  • $250 for completing a school co-op or paid internship semester
